Robots at the service of humanity-Youth Exchange in Hungary

The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange "Robots at the service of humanity" (2019-3-HU01-KA105-077500) took place in Hungary, Kállósemjén from 24.07.2022 to 30.07.2022.

A team of 10 students and 2 ICT teachers from Targu Jiu, Romania had the special pleasure of taking part in this project, whose main topic was getting to know robotics as thoroughly as possible. This was the 2nd youth exchange, organized in the project. The young participants have learnt to use the lego EV3 robots in the field of environmental protection and helping people's everyday lives.

On the first day of the mobility, after some ice-breaking games, that helped everyone get to know the group better, the 6 teams were created. Each team had to think about a problem in a city , a problem that can be solved with the help of a robot.

In different workshops , the students from the 3 countries involved (Hungary, Turkey and Romania) got to know the application possibilities of the lego EV3 robots together.

Teamwork, communication and the knowledge gained about legos and sensors helped the teams to design a kind of "SMART" with robots that put out the fire, cool the air, store the garbage. The sense of touch, concentration, intelligence, motor functions, thinking, creativity, imagination of all students between the ages of 12 and 18 were developed with the help of LEGO MINDSTORMS.

They worked on joint projects and built a Smart city, where the results of the joint work were presented in the last afternoon.

The program also included a small historical and cultural program. We visited Nyírbátor, where we learned about the life of the Báthory family, the history of the Battle of the Breadfields and the story of Lady Dracula. One day in the terrible heat wave, we got a little refreshment at a swimming pool . We also visited Nyíregyháza, the heart of Nyírség. We spent the evenings getting to know each other's culture and traditions and playing together. The participants got to know the history of the Kállay manor and one evening we even went on a ghost hunt.

During this week we learned a lot about how to build a robot, the sensors used and how to program it. Although this information was new to the Romanian students, they faced this challenge brilliantly. The week ended with many friendships made, but also the desire to learn more about LEGO MINSTORMS.

Schimbul de tineri Erasmus+ „Roboții în slujba umanității” (2019-3-HU01-KA105-077500) a avut loc în Kállósemjén, Ungaria în perioada 24.07.2022 - 30.07.2022.

O echipă de 10 elevi și 2 profesori de TIC din Târgu Jiu, România, a avut deosebita plăcere de a participa la acest proiect, al cărui subiect principal a fost cunoașterea cât mai aprofundată a roboticii. Acesta a fost al 2-lea schimb de tineri, organizat în cadrul proiectului. Tinerii participanți au învățat să folosească roboții lego EV3 în domeniul protecției mediului și al ajutorării vieții de zi cu zi a oamenilor.

În prima zi a mobilității, după niște jocuri de spargere a gheții, care i-au ajutat pe toți să cunoască mai bine grupul, au fost create cele 6 echipe. Fiecare echipă a trebuit să se gândească la o problemă dintr-un oraș, o problemă care poate fi rezolvată cu ajutorul unui robot.

În cadrul diferitelor ateliere, elevii din cele 3 țări implicate (Ungaria, Turcia și România) au cunoscut împreună posibilitățile de aplicare ale roboților lego EV3.

Munca în echipă, comunicarea și cunoștințele acumulate despre lego-uri și senzori au ajutat echipele să proiecteze un fel de „SMART” cu roboți care sting focul, răcesc aerul, depozitează gunoiul. Simțul tactil, concentrarea, inteligența, funcțiile motorii, gândirea, creativitatea, imaginația tuturor elevilor cu vârste cuprinse între 12 și 18 ani au fost dezvoltate cu ajutorul LEGO MINDSTORMS.

Au lucrat la proiecte comune și au construit un oraș inteligent, unde rezultatele muncii comune au fost prezentate în ultima după-amiază.

Programul a inclus și un mic program istoric și cultural. Am vizitat Nyírbátor, unde am aflat despre viața familiei Báthory, istoria Bătăliei de la Câmpurile de Pâine și povestea Lady Dracula. Într-o zi, în groaznicul val de căldură, ne-am băut puțin răcoare la o piscină. Am vizitat și Nyíregyháza, inima Nyírség. Ne-am petrecut serile cunoscându-ne cultura și tradițiile și jucându-ne împreună. Participanții au cunoscut istoria conacului Kállay și într-o seară chiar am plecat la o vânătoare de fantome.

În această săptămână am învățat multe despre cum să construim un robot, despre senzorii folosiți și despre cum să-l programăm. Deși această informație era nouă pentru studenții români, aceștia au făcut față cu brio acestei provocări. Săptămâna s-a încheiat cu multe prietenii făcute, dar și cu dorința de a afla mai multe despre LEGO MINSTORMS.
